For
this month, I decided to do a non-traditional color palette for a Valentine’s
card for my husband. I choose the Abstract Beauty Ephemera Pack and Cards andEnvelopes. The Balmy Blue base and Misty Moonlight circle were perfect
combined with the Magenta Madness and Crushed Curry heart.
In order to tie the colors together, I used a strip of the rainbow stripe paper from the Sale-A-Bration Sunshine & Rainbows DSP and anchored that with a strip of Blushing Bride paper from the Abstract Beauty DSP (the reverse of the Misty Moonlight circle). I used an arrow from the ephemera pack on the heart to bring in some more of the gold foil touches. The sentiment is from the Sale-A-Bration Friendly Hello stamp set. I inked it in Misty Moonlight, being careful to only ink the first two lines. I debated on adding embellishments and tried several, finally opting to use the Clear Epoxy Dots.
For the inside of the card, I used a blending brush to add some Misty Moonlight ink on the outside edge of the card. I thought that it needed a little something more, so I used the frame from the hearts that I had punched out as a mask to create hearts in the corner. I wanted to carry this theme to the envelope so I added hearts to the bottom corners.
