Welcome to the Luv 2 Stamp Group’s 2021 Blog Hop! We are excited to share projects with you this year and hope to inspire you to create beautiful new projects. Each month we will have a different theme based on the next month’s celebrations using Stampin’ Up! products.

Once you are done with each post, scroll down to the bottom and you will see a list of Blog Hop participants, you can click on their name to go to their post, or you can click the next button to go to the next post in line. Happy crafting! This month’s theme is Celebrating Women.

The minute that I heard the theme for this month, I knew that I wanted to use the Hey Girlfriend stamp set. The style the images are drawn in is perfect for women of all ages. The sentiments convey love, support and strength. It was a must have set for me and will always be in my collection.

The images are great for coloring with blends, one of my favorite techniques to use. My original plan was to color the dress using the Rococo Rose blends, but as I was choosing the DSP for the card, I was inspired to stamp on the DSP to have a patterned design for the dress. I used StazOn black ink to stamp the image on the DSP and then fussy cut the dress and glued it onto the image. One trick I like to use is to color the cut edge of the image using a Basic Black Stampin Write Marker.  Doing this makes the edges of the fussy cut image black so that when it is glued to the stamped image, the white paper core does not show. When you glue this to the stamped image, it has a seamless look!

The rest of the coloring was quick and easy. I stamped the image onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using Momento ink. I used the Rococo Rose blends for her shoes, headband, and the belt on the dress. I used the Cinnamon Cider blends to color her hair, coloring some strands in light and others in dark to create a natural highlighted look. Her eyes were colored with the Soft Suede blends. To give them a more natural look, I used the light Soft Suede as a base and then used dark Soft Suede on the lower right to add a bit of depth. For her skin, I used the Ivory blend.

Sale-A-Bration is my favorite time of year – who doesn’t love FREE stamps and paper? Every year Stampin’ Up! offers the most amazing DSP during SAB and this year is no exception. I love every one of the papers! The Paper Blooms DSP goes so well with the Hey Girlfriend stamp set. The floral images are fresh, pretty and coordinate beautifully with the images and fonts. If you know me, you know that I love stripes and this striped pattern was no exception. I love how well it goes with the floral pattern that I chose. I wanted to carry the floral pattern of the dress to create accents for the card. The DSP has a sheet with the watercolor circles that begged to be die cut with the Perennial Petals dies to make the flowers that frame the oval. The Opal Rounds are perfect flower centers and pick up all the colors in the DSP. The scalloped oval gives just the right feminine touch to make the lady pop.

There are so many options to use the Hey Girlfriend Stamp Set with the Perennial Petals dies and when you get both, you can choose the Paper Blooms DSP giving you even more creative ways to let the women in your life know you care!

Celebrating Women is something that I think we should all do more often! Not just for birthdays or special occasions, but on any random day too. The sentiments in this set are perfect for telling women that they are amazing and that they have your support and love. This card is on its way to a unique, creative and loving woman that truly is one tough act to follow!
